Reservoir Studio is a small, design focused architecture studio based in North Carolina. We rely on intensive collaboration with clients, builders, and local artisans and crafters to create highly thoughtful, purposeful spaces which are deeply rooted in their place and context.
We believe every project we undertake should be harmoniously rooted in the context of site and community. We believe there is an opportunity for great design in every project, at every scale, and for every program & budget. We also believe that we have a responsibility to our community to design buildings with the highest levels of sustainability.
Nick Roberts, AIA
Nick is passionate about modern, sustainably designed spaces, local context, and urban infill opportunities.
He began his passion for architecture, construction, and building science when he attended Appalachian State University, receiving a degree in Building Science and Community & Regional Planning in 2011. He graduated from the NCSU College of Design with a Masters of Architecture in 2015. Professionally he has worked in both construction and architecture, from building custom homes to executing design-build projects to designing commercial and residential buildings.
Outside of the office, Nick is usually riding his bike to parks with his wife and two children, tinkering in his backyard woodshop, or enjoying a local beer outside.
William Sendor, AIA
William is inspired by architecture that fosters dynamic community interaction and captures the spirit of place. Through holistic, concept-driven design approaches and collaborative visioning with clients and stakeholders, he seeks to design spaces that honor the context, people, and narrative fabric embedded in each project.
Before founding Reservoir Studio, he served as project designer at previous firms such as Perkins+Will, Cannon Architects, and Perkins Eastman, designing a diverse range of civic & cultural, higher education, K-12, science & technology, and healthcare projects. He also served as concept designer for the Memorial to the Enslaved at the College of William & Mary. He brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspectives to each project. Above all, he sees every design challenge – at all scales – as an opportunity for design excellence.
Outside of the studio, he enjoys going for “pack walks” with his wife, child, and two dogs, as well as competing in tennis leagues around the Triangle.
